 2.  Camden Lock (30 min away by bus)  is one of London’s most vibrant shopping and entertainment areas. Live music and comedy venues, café’s and bars it’s a brilliant place to  meet up with some of the city’s most creative people. The Lock is the original ‘Camden Market’, opened in 1973 as a collection of artisan workshops. Clustered in and around the  award-winning Market Hall, you’ll find small shops and market stalls selling everything from vintage fashion, handmade jewellery and beautiful homewares sourced from around the  globe. It’s also a great place to spot new young designers. Delicious food; from stacks of vegetarian goodies to hearty steaks and the waft of heady spices, there's a global          kitchen on offer. You can arrive by Waterbus on the canal from Maida Vale or London Zoo right into the heart of the market. Open seven days a week, (just closed on Christmas    Day), and close to the Eurostar terminal at Kings Cross, the nearest tube stations are Camden Town and Chalk Farm (on the Northern Line).

3. The Regent's Park with Primrose Hill only 25 min away by bus from The Palm Hotel  

The Regent’s Park, 166 hectares (410 acres), was designed in 1811 by renowned architect John Nash and includes stunning rose gardens. The Park is the largest outdoor sports area in London catering for football, softball and rugby, and a cricket pitch. There are wild bird species and waterfowl. The Park hosts London Zoo, the Open Air Theatre (performances end May to early September), bandstands and a boating lake. There are cafés include The Garden Café, The Honest Sausage, The Boathouse Café, and the Tennis Centre Café. The view from the top of Primrose Hill is one of London’s best, affording a fantastic panorama across the city. There is a playground, sports facilities and public toilets with disabled access.

 
4. Brent Cross is one of the biggest shopping centres in UK with 110 stores and small cosy coffee shops.  Its currently offers 8,000 free car-parking spaces.
