London – A Treasure Trove of Easter Activities

London Easter Activities

Visitors are positively spoilt for choice this Easter when visiting London.  Quite apart from being able to enjoy the vast range of museums, art galleries, theatres, shops and other attractions unique to London, there are a host of fantastic special activities on offer just for the Easter period.  Taking advantage of these events while a resident at any of the hotels near Wembley Stadium will add extra fun to your London visit.

Take your seat early in Trafalgar Square on Good Friday to enjoy a spectacular free pageant.  Over 100 actors and volunteers, plus numerous horses, donkeys and doves are set to recreate the dramatic events of the Passion of Jesus. Weaving their way through the square, they show Jesus riding on a donkey through cheering crowds, the trial before Pontius Pilate and ultimately death on a cross.  Massive screens in all corners of Trafalgar Square will enable everyone to follow the action.  This is the ninth year that this Pageant has been held in London and it has become a much loved, and sought after event.

Visiting historic houses like Hampton Court Palace or exploring the beauty of the spring flowers in Kew Gardens takes on extra fun as visitors will have the opportunity to hunt for chocolate Easter eggs. Trails of this kind are being held across the city, so you will not have to travel far to find an Easter trail.

If you cannot wait to hunt for the delicious chocolate treats, head for one of London’s fantastic chocolatiers and choose your own.  Shops like William Curley and Melt Chocolate have a large selection of stunning Easter Eggs while the Easter Egg Bar at Fortnum & Mason is always guaranteed to attract a lot of attention with its hundreds of decorated eggs, bunnies and chicks.

Book a place on the London Eye’s Chocolate & Prosecco tasting experience.  Admire London’s skyline while enjoying a glass of Prosecco and trying different types of chocolate courtesy of the Hotel Chocolat Ambassador.  The hardest part will be disembarking at the end of such a pleasant journey!

Book a stay at any of the hotels in Cricklewood London and take part in a craft workshop or take the children to a storytelling session in one of London’s museums and art galleries.  Watch the Elizabeth I’s Armarda Portrait come to life in a journey down the Thames from Greenwich to central London.

Staying in Tudor times, book a night’s sleepover on the Golden Hinde, a replica Tudor ship moored near the Globe Theatre.  Find out what life was like for Elizabethan sailors, and try Tudor meals as the river Thames laps along the sides of the ship.
